Green Shelter supports different gardening groups to do a variety of activities, and one of the main events Green Shelter supports is BGS’s Gardening Festival and Seed Mela. We dedicate ourselves to teaching and helping others learn how to harvest seeds from their garden in order to encourage them to donate to our very own seed banks. A team of our members gather on a day to organise and sort all the seeds that are sent to us to prepare for our annual Seed Mela, where we distribute these seeds to those who wish for them. This is held in person and is part of an amazing festival which includes music, games for kids, sports and delicious foods to eat while socialising. Even if you couldn’t make it to our in-person event, we have organised to deliver seeds by courier too as we believe people across the country deserve the opportunity to grow and be green. Our Seed Festival is a time to share our love for gardening and share our hard work with others.
