Capt. Tasbirul Ahmed Choudhury is a British-Bangladeshi aviation professional, entrepreneur, and strategic advisor with more than 36 years of experience in airline operations, flight safety, aviation governance, pilot training, and infrastructure development. Throughout his distinguished career, he has played a pioneering role in the growth of Bangladesh’s aviation sector and is widely recognised for his leadership, innovation, and commitment to professional excellence.
As the Founder, Chairman, and Managing Director of United Airways (BD) Ltd, Capt. Choudhury led the development of one of Bangladesh’s leading private airlines. Under his leadership, the airline grew from a single aircraft operation into a major aviation employer with over 2,500 staff and a fleet of 10 aircraft. He also established Bangladesh’s first General Aviation Academy in Sylhet, helping to strengthen pilot training and aviation workforce development within the country.
In addition to his entrepreneurial achievements, Capt. Choudhury has extensive experience working alongside aviation regulators, government agencies, and international organisations on matters relating to safety, governance, regulatory compliance, and long-term aviation strategy. He continues to provide consultancy services to airlines and aviation institutions, advising on operational efficiency, risk management, training systems, and industry best practice.
Capt. Choudhury has received numerous honours throughout his career, including recognition as one of the world’s “23 Positive Change Makers” and an Honorary Doctorate in Aviation and Flight Safety. His passion for leadership, education, and community impact extends beyond aviation and into wider initiatives that promote sustainable development and social progress.
