Mr Mahbub Murshed is known for his hardwork, dedication and charismatic qualities.

He spent his early life in the cities of Mymensingh, Dhaka in Bangladesh.  In 1982, he achieved a government scholarship to study Software Engineering in Bulgaria. Mr Mushed then continued his studies in London, changing his field to Accountancy.

After completion, he set up his own practice.  Over the years it became one of the most well-known accountancy firms in the British Bangladeshi community. He was the first Accountant who came to the TV media and ran a popular Accountancy Programme, “Accountancy with Mahbub Murshed”, for almost a decade. With the start of the pandemic, he continued to give advice and support online to the wider community and his existing clients.

His hobbies are cricket, badminton photography and gardening.

When the pandemic period began, Mr Murshed’s childhood passion for gardening reignited.  With everyone under lockdown restrictions, his garden became the focus of his attention.  He redesigned his garden adding some unique artistic landscaping.  His garden features included a Japanese Landscape, Rockery beds, a Rose Corner, a Painted Garden wall, an Evergreen live wall, a Pond and a waterfall. Mr Murshed also holds “Garden Open Day” each year which attracts local residents and experienced gardeners alike.

He joined the Bangladeshi Garden Society UK (BGS) soon after its creation in 2021.  Mr Murshed is a proud active member of the organisation.

He believes that gardening could be and should be done in every season. This is reflected in his own garden.

He has become a role model for many for his passion for gardening.  Mr Murshed wants to continue to support the wider community through his accounting profession and to help build a greener world for the future generation through his gardening skills.
