Dr Anwar Khan is an environmental scientist and has been working at the School of Chemistry, University of Bristol, UK since 2013. He completed his Ph.D. from the same university in 2008. He worked as a Marie Curie Post-doctoral Fellow in the Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Research (IMAU), Utrecht University (2012–2013) and as a Visiting Associate Researcher in the Department of Geography, University of California Berkeley (2009–2011). He also worked as a Faculty at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Sylhet, Bangladesh during 2001-2012. During his current research works, he has been developing ways to measure gases in the air that may be harmful to health. He also develops computer models to mimic how chemicals are released and travel in the air. Dr Khan’s research involves investigating gases in the air and their impact on the environment and on public health. The output of his research helps people to make decisions on climate change, air quality, and health improvement. In addition, he teaches theoretical and practical courses for undergraduate students. He has established himself as a successful teacher and am well regarded by both students and fellow colleagues. He also provides mentoring support to his undergraduate project and postgraduate students. He has been involved with Green Shelter charity since 2022 and actively participates in all activities of the charity. In his spare time, he does gardening, cooking and watching football, cricket & dramas on TV.
